I am a single mother of 2 of the most amazing and talented children a woman could ask for. My son Deshaun (23) has been the motivation for my career since I was 15 years old. I knew then that my achievements in life had to be centered around always being avaliable for him. Plus I needed cash..daily!... Because of my blessing, the cosmetology industry began whispering my name in 1993.
I entered the cosmetology program at my highschool in 1994 (Whites Creek High) under the mentorship of my beloved educator Mrs. Deloris Donnegan. I remained under her structured program for 3 years. During these years SHE would NOT allow me to loose sight of my vision to finish high school and to gain a trade. Her tough love helped my own mother to shape me into a woman that was capable of providing for a family as well as remaining a lady in the process.
I was blessed with my princess in the fall of 1999 and I was done, she was the final piece to our trio. If I ever needed a reason to FOCUS on achieving goals, she was it! She was my silent business partner at the age of 4 (at least she thought she was). Her perspective has helped me become the stylist I am today. Did I mention she has kept me informed about "new" styles and movements involving the youth hair styling trends.
